Donald E. "Gene" Hays, 81, Crawfordsville, died Thursday in Danville (Ill.) Regional Veterans Hospital. Mr. Hays worked at R.R. Donnelley's for 25 years and owned Hays Honda at Crawfordsville. His memberships included Smartsburg Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and he was affiliated with Love Outreach Christian Church. He was born April 3, 1922, at Crawfordsville, to Arley and Nora Campbell Hays. He married Sena M. Risner. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Joe, Crawfordsville; a brother, Max, California; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister are deceased. Private family funeral services will be conducted, with burial in Oak Hill Mausoleum. Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, is in charge of arrangements.
